PHILADELPHIA — After weeks of saying they need to get better, the Mets did, in fact, play better in a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. The team has avoided the cliche saying of playing one game at a time, but they’ve acknowledged that it makes little sense to look ahead right now when they are still looking up at three other teams in the NL East standings. They’re trying not to panic in the midst of a disastrous season. So hours after a disastrous game, they cleaned up some aspects of their game. They caught routine popups and made routine groundouts. The Phillies tied the game and the Mets pushed back.Max Scherzer tossed six innings in a gritty, 107-pitch performance the Mets (35-41) badly needed. The ace cruised through the first three innings before running into trouble in the third with a leadoff home run by Nick Castellanos. The damage was minimal, but the Mets’ lead was cut in half, 2-1. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which struck down a constitutional right to abortion. Biden said in a statement that the court’s ruling has allowed states to implement “extreme and dangerous” abortion bans that have jeopardized the life and health of women, forced them to potentially travel hundreds of miles to receive health care and threatened to declare doctors as criminals for providing care that their patients need.  His LGBTQ teen book is one of the most banned in the U.S. Here’s why he keeps writing About two dozen states have enacted abortion restrictions in the year since Roe was overturned, most of them restricting the procedure after six weeks of pregnancy, before many women know they are pregnant, or almost entirely. Biden said state abortion bans are only part of the effort to re...

(KTLA/NEXSTAR) — If you’re traveling, there’s hardly a greater feeling than finding a discount on a hotel room. That joy and the relaxation of your trip can, however, come crashing down quickly once it’s time to pay the bill. Even some of the cheapest hotel rooms can become expensive stays thanks to added fees. Their presence on your bill doesn’t necessarily mean you have to pay them, though. In the U.S., hotel prices are up roughly 3% compared to this time last year, according to the U.S. Consumer Price Index, and they’re expected to remain relatively high. The average room price has hovered over $200 a night, sites like Hopper show.   Crowds, high prices and the ‘White Lotus’ effect: Worst places to travel this summer Amenity fees can tack on another $25 to $100 a night, Clint Henderson, frequent traveler and managing editor at The Points Guy, tells Nexstar. It wasn’t always as widespread as it is today, he explains. What are resort fees?Hotel fee, resor...
